Amazing dives on the Spiegel Grove Wreck in Key Largo, FL!

Very excited about finally being able to dive on the Spiegel Grove Wreck in Key Largo, Florida today! I was delighted to have a guided tour of this wreck by another diver from New York which included multiple penetrations into the wreck. We even visited “Snoopy? located in the aft portion of the ship at the 100-foot level. Unfortunately, I only captured 4 good video clips since the GoPro was apparently switched to still photos during the dive which are very blurry. Our first dive’s maximum depth was 102.5 feet for 28 minutes, and the second dive’s maximum depth was 91.5 feet for 27 minutes. The current outside the ship was stronger on the second dive, so that required more air consumption, but nearly 30-minute dives at about 100-feet is very good for me! The Spiegel Grove is one of the largest ships in the world for diving (over 500-feet long with a maximum depth of 130-feet. Multiple dives are required to really explore this ship. The two dives today were amazing, but I hope to come back often and explore more of the ship with its amazing coral formations, multitudes of fish including reef sharks and goliath grouper.

I had to come off the Appalachian and Florida Traila due to injuries and major exhaustion. You can learn more by reading my earlier posts in this blog. I am now working at Shell Point part-time!
